Roasted chickpeas are a tasty and nutritious snack or side dish that can be easily prepared at home.

As well as being rich in protein and fibre, it is also extremely versatile - you can add it to salads, soups or just enjoy it as a snack on its own. This simple recipe will give you crispy roasted chickpeas in no time and will delight you with their taste and texture.

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Rinse the cooked chickpeas well under cold water and drain. If using canned chickpeas, rinse them well to remove excess salt.

In a bowl, mix the cooked chickpeas with the olive oil, ground paprika, garlic and onion powder and salt. Stir well to distribute all the ingredients evenly.

Arrange the chickpeas on a baking tray lined with baking paper, making sure they are evenly distributed in a single layer.

Bake in a preheated oven for about 20-30 minutes, or until the chickpeas are crisp and lightly golden brown, stirring occasionally to cook evenly.

When the chickpeas are roasted, pour the lemon juice over them.

Serve roasted chickpeas as a tasty and healthy snack or as a side dish to a main course. Sprinkle with parsley, if desired.
