1. Step Preparation of the ingredients: Place the egg yolk, mustard, lemon juice or vinegar, salt and pepper in a medium bowl. If you decide to add spices to the mayonnaise, now is the time to add them.
2. Step Mixing the basic ingredients: using a hand mixer or whisk, mix the ingredients well until smooth and evenly combined.
3. Step Adding the oil: start adding the BAM rapeseed oil spray slowly, very small amounts at a time. Meanwhile, stir continuously with a blender or whisk. This is a crucial part as adding the oil too quickly can cause the mayonnaise not to thicken properly.
4. Step Thickening the mayonnaise: Continue adding oil and stirring until the mixture is thick and creamy. This may take a few minutes. If the mayonnaise is too thick, you can add a little warm water to reach the desired consistency.
5. Step Taste: Adjust the taste with additional salt, pepper, lemon juice or other spices as needed.
6. Step Storage: Store homemade mayonnaise in a clean, tightly sealed container in the fridge. Use within one week.
