Instructions:

1
In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Then add the egg and oil, gradually adding the warm water while mixing until you have a smooth dough. The dough should be soft and elastic. Shape into a ball, cover with a clean cloth and leave to rest for about 30 minutes.
1
Peel and grate the apples. Add the sugar, BAM pie and strudel spice mix, lemon juice and zest, walnuts and raisins (if using). Mix well and leave the filling to soak in a little.
1
On a floured surface, roll out the dough thinly to form a rectangle. You can help yourself by placing a kitchen cloth under the dough to make it easier to roll out without tearing.
1
Spread the prepared filling evenly over the rolled out dough.
2
Carefully lift one side of the dough and start rolling the strudel. Make sure the edges are closed to prevent the filling from leaking out during baking.
1
Place the strudel on a baking tray previously lined with baking paper. Then melt the butter and spread it over the top of the strudel to make a golden brown crust. Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the strudel for about 40-45 minutes, or until nicely golden brown.
1
After baking, leave the strudel to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Before serving, you can sprinkle it with icing sugar and serve it with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
